It’s time to plan outdoor fun for the summer.
Join Starker Forests for free tours and the opportunity to learn more about managing forests. From planting seedlings, caring for the trees and the environment, to harvest and on to the mill, you will hear how it all is done with care and to promote healthy wildlife.
The tours leave from the office at 1 p.m. and return by 4:30 p.m. The office is located at 7240 Philomath Blvd. in Corvallis. RSVP is required; call 541-929-2477 or email recreation@starkerforests.com.

Visit an active logging job with a Starker Forests forester and learn about the planning that takes place years before the first tree is harvested and what happens after the harvest is done.
Starker Forests Forest Management & History Tour – July 24
Celebrate Starker Forests’ 90th anniversary by joining staff on a driving forest tour that explores the history of Starker Forests and current forest management practices.


Starker Forests Mill Tour – Aug. 7
Get a look at how harvested trees are transformed into lumber and chips on this tour at a local mill. We’ll follow logs from delivery to finished product and discuss how sustainability and efficiency are integrated into every step of the process.
Starker Forests Wildlife Tour – Aug. 21
Learn about how local wildlife is considered during forest management on Starker Forests’ property. From meadows and clearcuts to streams and roads, you will see how the land is managed for healthy wildlife.
