Fire Season 2013 begins July 2nd

Jun 28, 2013 | News

July 2, 2013
Fire Season will be in effect on all Starker Forests lands as of July 2, 2013.

Fire Season is defined as “the season when a fire hazard exists as declared by the Oregon Department of Forestry”.

The declaration of fire season does not affect private citizens using the forest, but it does affect industrial and private forest operations such as timber harvest. The FIRE EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS explain the requirements that go into effect with the start of fire season.

Check out the Oregon Department of Forestry Wildfire blog, where you can find daily updates about fire season and wildfires in Oregon.
