The People at Starker Forests

The land Starker Forests owns is managed by the Starker family, a board of directors, and a staff of dedicated, longtime Starker foresters and professionals.

Executive Team

Randy Hereford

President and Chief Executive Officer

Randy has been president and CEO of Starker Forests since May 2019. He served as vice president of timber and assistant secretary from 2007 to 2019. Over the last four decades, Randy has directed timber harvest planning, log marketing, road construction and fire management. Randy graduated from OSU in 1977 with a bachelor’s in forest engineering and a bachelor’s in forest management. Prior to joining Starker Forests, Randy worked for Crown Zellerbach in NW Washington.

Nicole W. Wallace, CPA

Chief Financial Officer and Secretary

Nicole started with Starker Forests in 2019 and became CFO in January 2020. After graduating from OSU with a bachelor’s in accounting, she went to work in public accounting at Kernutt Stokes LLP in Eugene, where she earned her CPA certification. After moving on to work for a tech company in Denver, Nicole returned home upon acceptance of the role of CFO at Starker Forests.

Marc G. Vomocil

Vice President Lands

Marc has been vice president of lands since 2018. Marc served as vice president-forestry and assistant secretary from 2007 to 2018. He has been involved in all aspects of forestry over the years, including reforestation, young stand management, inventory, growth and yield projections, and the appraisal, purchase, and sale of timberlands. Marc graduated OSU College of Forestry in 1974. He worked for Starker Forests while in college and joined the firm upon graduation. He took a leave of absence in 1978 to return to OSU for a master’s of forest economics and returned to Starker Forests full time in 1980.

Anna Starker May

Shareholder Relations Manager

Anna is a fourth-generation owner of Starker Forests. She joined Starker Forests as a forester after graduating from Oregon State University’s College of Forestry. She took a leave for several years to care for her growing family and returned to Starker Forests as Shareholder Relations Manager in 2015. Her primary responsibilities are to keep the Starker family connected to the business and to manage the company’s philanthropic activities. She serves as vice-chair of the board of directors.
